Hello World!
The highest number I ever weighed on the scale was recorded at 366.9 Lbs. on August 11th, 2017.
In September of that year I began to weigh-in weekly to track my progress.
9-01 360.4
9-11 359.5
9-15 360.3
On September 24th I began a 60 day commitment not to eat any sugar or starch. (Keto-ish)
09-30 356
10-01 354
10-06 353
10-13 356
10-20 349.9
10-27 348.7
11-03 348.3
11-10 343.1
11-17 340.9
On November 20th I weighed in at the VA clinic at 338 Lbs.
11-24 340.2
November 24th was also the last day of my 60 day commitment. Just in time for Thanksgiving.
I continued my weekly weigh-ins even as I indulged in holiday treats.
11-30 337.2
12-01 334.9
12-08 335.7
12-15 332.5
12-29 332
2018
01-12 330.1
01-19 328.4
01-26 330.1
01-31 331.7
02-02 332.3
02-09 328.4
02-16 329.3
02-23 327.6
March 1st I weighed in at the VA clinic again and the scale read 325.9 Lbs.
03-02 326.8
03-09 323.8
This turned out to be the lowest weigh-in that I recorded.
03-16 326.2
03-30 326.2
After March of 2018 my weigh-ins were more sporadic.
04-16 330.9
04-27 331
And my weigh began to climb.
05-01 337.9
07-01 346.3
07-05 347.3
07-06 343.1
07-14 342.4
08-14 347.6
08-15 347.4
08-20 348.3
I didn't weigh until November 28th and by that time I was back up to 362.5 Lbs. and at that point I had other pressing concerns to attend to and I'll admit I was a little discouraged.
Fast Forward to May 30th, 2019 when I finally faced the scale again. I felt so heavy and fat I was sure that I had to be at least 375+ pounds... it is so easy to creep up fifteen pounds in a year. But to my surprise I weigh in at only 358.2 Lbs.
I was so encourage by my lack of weigh gain that I plotted my next attempt at a low carb diet. After all I'd already experienced some success before.
I started by eating normally and logging everything that pasted my lips and I found out that I was eating on average 3895 calories a day.
There is a rule of thumb that says that for every thousand calories you eat daily expect to maintain at least hundred pounds. So if you eat 3,000 calories daily, you'll weigh around 300 pounds. 2,000 calories then 200 pounds and so on and so forth. At my rate of consumption I'm very lucky I wasn't closer to 400 pounds.
So on June 19th I began by cutting my calories in half. I kept on food journaling. I budgeted 2000 calories per day. Subtracting the calorie count of everything that I ate until I reached zero. Some days I went over by much as 500 calories but that was still a lot less than 3930.
On June 24th, I was tipping the scale at 360.3. By July 8th I had drop to 348.9 just by cutting my calorie intake. At this point I was still eating ding-dongs and other junk foods.
I hadn't even started restricting my carbs yet.
But by the end of the month I had planed to start my actual Ketogenic regimen. I scoured YouTube for info and found that there was a great deal more to be explored than the had been in 2017.
